The Archers: a story of country folk, naturally.

Television

The One Show.  We like this weekday magazine show and

its regular contributors.

Ashes to Ashes.  Its 1981 and an almost sequel to Life on Mars.

Reggie Perrin.  Reinvented with Martin Clunes playing a very convincing latter day principle character.

Film

Story of the Weeping Camel.

The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency A charming story chronicling the adventures of Mma Ramotswe by Alexander McCall Smith.

Previously listening to and watching:

Beautiful People.  Hilarious comedy we just happened upon by accident.  I’m so glad we did.

Stephen Fry in America.  I’m curious about anything American.  I don’t necessarily think American is better but nonetheless, interesting.  Stephen begins his journey through all 50 states of the USA in New England.  Concurrently, Simon Schama’s BBC2 series, The American Future: a history, is showing on Friday evenings.

Picture This: Channel 4’s search for the best digital photographer

Hugh’s Chicken Run.  Becky is a huge Hugh fan.  She shares his ideals for living off the land and sourcing other food locally.

Jam & Jerusalem.  Set in the fictional Clatterford St Mary, it’s filmed in North Tawton, Devon.

Chateau Monty.  Writer Monty Waldin's dream of

making his own red wine in the south-west of France

is becoming a reality.

The Great Italian Escape.  The Turnbulls moved out to

Tuscany over six years ago.  Three children and lots of

experience later we’re catching up with them on a Thursday

evening.

Gavin & Stacey.  Essex meets Barry Island.  We’ve only recently discovered this comedy and by

chance have been able to catch up with a repeated Series 1.  Hilarious.

Time Team: accessible archaeology

QI.  I’ve just discovered this is an abbreviation for ‘quite interesting’.  It’s hosted by Stephen Fry who would be a guest at my fantasy dinner party.

Who do you think you are?   The family history show which has produced some very interesting surprises.  We particularly enjoyed the Boris Johnson’s and David Suchet’s programmes of the last series.
