watching & listening

Radio

The Archers: a story of country folk, naturally.

Television

The One Show.  We like this weekday magazine show and

its regular contributors.

Beautiful People.  Hilarious comedy we just happened upon by accident.  I’m so glad we did.

Stephen Fry in America.  I’m curious about anything American.  I don’t necessarily think American is better but nonetheless, interesting.  Stephen begins his journey through all 50 states of the USA in New England.  Concurrently, Simon Schama’s BBC2 series, The American Future: a history, is showing on Friday evenings.

Film

Story of the Weeping Camel.

The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency A charming story chronicling the adventures of Mma Ramotswe by Alexander McCall Smith.

Previously listening to and watching:

Jam & Jerusalem.  Set in the fictional Clatterford St Mary, it’s filmed in North Tawton, Devon.

Fairy Tales

Around the World in 80 Gardens

Ashes to Ashes.  Its 1981 and an almost sequel to Life on Mars.

Time Team: accessible archaeology

The Museum of Curiosity, describes itself as a panel

show featuring amusing experts and entertainers each

bringing an exhibit to the museum.

The Invisibles Comedy drama of two old lags who hanker

after the old days.  Starring Jenny Agutter and Anthony

Head.

Have I got news for you? Panel game with Paul Merton and Ian Hislop

QI.  I’ve just discovered this is an abbreviation for ‘quite interesting’.  It’s hosted by Stephen Fry who would be a guest at my fantasy dinner party.

Chateau Monty.  Writer Monty Waldin's dream of

making his own red wine in the south-west of France

is becoming a reality.

The Great Italian Escape.  The Turnbulls moved out to

Tuscany over six years ago.  Three children and lots of

experience later we’re catching up with them on a Thursday

evening.

Who do you think you are?   The family history show which has produced some very interesting surprises.  We particularly enjoyed the Boris Johnson’s and David Suchet’s programmes.
